Tyrone looking to ban data centers over 60 megawatts

The Livingston Post reports that Tyrone Township is drafting rules that would prohibit data centers requiring more than 60 megawatts and require special-land-use approval for smaller facilities. The proposal includes noise, water-use and ongoing compliance standards, with fire-protection provisions still being developed. The planning commission took no action at its October 13 meeting, and no public hearing had been scheduled when the article was published. The proposed size limit is not an adopted ban.[1]
